Day 19 – Day off

A day off from reading is not a day off from praying or living as a Christian. Pray for something that’s on your heart today.

Day 19 – Day Off

Hello lovely people! It’s a brrrrr cold day outside so whether you’re braving it in Tatton Park, or closing the curtains and warming up with a coffee, or  working through yesterday’s reading to catch up, I hope you’re enjoying it. I had a lovely day out in Chester with Nic yesterday – isn’t it lovely to be able to do good things and to thank God that we can?

I know that reading the passages, reading the questions/notes, and writing your own journal entries can take a long time – maybe 30 or 40 minutes each day. I’m also aware that after the very early initial excitment about getting going, you may already find it hard to commit to what we’re doing. Really well done if you have got into a routine of spending this time with God’s Word each day. Really well done! I hope you can already see what your journal will be like by the end of the year, full of notes and encouragements and helpful reminders. Flick through it now to encourage you.

Have you written anything down in the “bible verses” pages? I would hope so! You can use these as a basis for prayer today.

If you left any extra space at the front of your journal (or maybe you could do it at the back) you could make some space for things that encourage, amaze, or excite you about what we’re reading too. Have you found anything to be particularly enjoyable or mind-blowing? If so, you might enjoy marking these to encourage you further down the year.

See you at church… and don’t forget, think bigger 🙂
