A day off from reading is not a day off from praying or living as a Christian. Pray for something that’s on your heart today.

Day 12 – Day Off

Hello! Well, we’re enough days in now that you should be in a routine. I hope that you are enjoying and valuing your time with the Bible each and every day. In fact – I know you are, as I enjoyed hearing from you at Eureka on Friday night about how you’re getting on. Harry and Jonah – did you enjoy looking at Job together yesterday? I bet you have questions – when Nicola and I sat down to look at Job together today, we certainly had lots to ponder!

Have you found that some days you’re doing it because you’re excited about finding out more, and other days you feel you’re reading because you’re supposed to? Hopefully not yet (especially with these fascinating passages in Job), but that’ll happen. There’s a reason that we structure the readings, and work through them together – because we all need a bit of encouragement from time to time. If you’re up to date, be super encouraged! Good work… and keep it up as you build your routine.

Have a look at your journal. I hope it’s already helpful to you to see the pages fill up. Have you written any verses in at the front? If so, look them up again. Flick to the reasons you wrote for doing this reading plan – let them encourage you!

As you look at the notes you have written, think about whether they are helpful and useful notes. Did you rush any? If you feel you have, maybe you can spend a few minutes whilst the days are still early going back and giving those days a little more attention. You’ll be glad you did.

See you at church!
